TGIF: Progressive Pootie Pundit Round-up
Fri Aug 22, 2008 at 02:51:21 PM PDT
How are the pooties in your precinct doing? Any news hitting the mews wires yet?
Ceiling cat sent any text messages? Does ceiling cat even have a cell phone?
Well, here in OH-10, Henry and Eleanor have been on high alert waiting for Senator Obama's announcement.
It's Friday. It's the Friday before a history making announcement. If you want to poke fun - OK. If you want to start sh*t - go elsewhere. All creatures, large or small, welcome to check in. Keep it light - keep it funny - keep it clean.

Send WV volunteers some love-Food Bomb III
Tue May 13, 2008 at 12:06:34 PM PDT
Thank you to GN1927 who got today's Food Bomb III going. This is just part 2 - sort of like liveblogging, only with pizza. :-)
This diary is a continuation of highacidity's Food Bomb I and refinish69's Food Bomb II successful North Carolina and Indiana efforts.
Debate rages on around this site anticipating West Virginia's electoral returns tonight, with profiles of this state presented and debated, the electoral makeup dissected and analyzed.
In the midst of these, please don't forget the hardworking, selfless WV Obama '08 volunteers and staffers who persist in laying the seeds of emphasizing our commonalities and change possible via the election of this truly special presidential candidate. They're knocking on doors, they're calling homes.
Feed 'em!
LOLz Pooties Support the Troops
Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 08:48:31 PM PDT
With nothing but utmost respect for the many serious diairies currently on the recent list, I need a bit of relief tonight.
I am so worn out by the latest tempest in the MSM teapot that I can't listen to one more serious word.
First, want a good laugh? Go check out My Daughters by D Wreck. It's just one of those diaries that will make you laugh in spite of yourself.
Then, come back here and check out my latest LOLz Pootie attempts:

WAYWO: Pinch hitter edition 03.23.08
Sun Mar 23, 2008 at 04:39:47 PM PDT
Well, I'm not quite sure who's where, but I figured I'd toss this up anyhow.
Hope Spring has sprung where you are. We still have big patches of snow on the ground here, but my daffodils are poking through the soil.
No Candidates Allowed!! w/pics
Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 09:23:24 PM PDT
WARNING: No candidate talk allowed. This diary is specifically for the purpose of hanging out, sharing pics of our pooties, woozles, poochies, and other loved beasties, bragging about what we got accomplished today, or just plain old blowing off some steam.
Is it me or has it been one of those bone-crusher days? I haven't heard one bit of really good news all day long, so before Thursday gets too far underway, I'm making news of my own and it's good, dammit!
Cheers & Jeers: The Last Sub Standing
Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 05:38:09 AM PDT
From beautiful Cuyahoga County, Ohio
Welcome to C&J Humpday Edition - The Last Sub Standing. Twenty-four more hours and daddy will be home, kiddies!
Disclaimer: I am not BiPM. I do not play BiPM on television or in SL. I do not look like BiPM. I do not smell like BiPM - OK, so maybe I can't know that for a fact. I have heard, however, that I giggle like BiPM. I'll have to get back to you on that one. Therefore, the use of "Cheers & Jeers" is an overt act of bogarting and should not be considered to be anything resembling the real C&J, as written and published by said BiPM...which is not me, like I said.
Happy March 12th poolies. On this, the 72nd day of 2008, it's a balmy 34 F here on the Shores of the Great Lake Erie, with not a snowflake in sight, nor a wind to blow your coat open at the bus stop. Gee, can Spring be far behind? I'd check on my crocuses but they're currently buried under 2 feet of snow.
Non-candidate diary: I Miss PhillyGal w/Pooties
Sun Jan 20, 2008 at 09:44:48 PM PDT
I love the dialog that goes on here at DKos. I even love the heated arguing that sometimes arises. I don't like, much less love, the nasty, personal attacks flying back and forth across keyboards at the fingers of some pretty intelligent folks.
This vitriole has caused a number of seasoned kossacks to take a temporary leave of our community, and I for one miss damn near all of them, but I miss PhillyGal the most.
So, in the spirit of that dear, dear lady this is a cold-as-hell in NE Ohio, MLK Weekend, Sunday night let's play nice, pootie diary.
Bring on the pooties!
Help Vets with PTSD = Supporting the Troops
Mon Dec 03, 2007 at 05:15:18 PM PDT
As most of you regulars here at Daily Kos are aware, maybe painfully aware, I have been publishing a daily Troop Care Package diary since just before Thanksgiving Day.
Tonight, I'd like to give up the space to a worthy effort being conducted by kossack ilona who will be testifying before the House Veterans' Affairs Committee on December 12, 2007: "Stopping Suicide and Ending Homelessness: Mental Health Challenges Within the Department of Veterans Affairs."
She needs a hand with some simple research and, instead of giving you another care package diary, I'm asking you to go to her diary //ACTION// Help Amass PTSD Data for Congressional Record to lend a hand.
California Wildfires - Liveblog #21 (7:00 AM Pacific)
Wed Oct 24, 2007 at 07:00:01 AM PDT
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DIARY. RECOMMEND LIVEBLOG MOTHERSHIP
This is hour 48-plus coverage of the fires in Southern California provided by the DKos community. If you are able to, please include information on evacuations, closures/openings, and fire fighting progress in your comments.
Those of you affected directly or who have family/friends dealing with this, good luck to you. We are all thinking of you.
Please do not post pictures or frivolous comments. If you are here to mock or gloat, or give us your philosophical meanderings about the meaning of wildfires go play with other trolls. These diaries are not about you.
Please use the first comment to post updates. Responses to the first comment should be updates only.
Please use the second comment to volunteer for liveblogging. Respond to the second comment if you can volunteer to liveblog. It's very easy! You can just copy what others have done.
WAYWO 10.14.07: Autumn Leaves
Sun Oct 14, 2007 at 04:05:13 PM PDT
Since I don't see one up, I'll post this WAYWO diary and take it down when em shows up.
I am the queen of procrastination, and had the most embarassing moment of my adult like last Tuesday. The City of Berea buildings inspector was on our property for their annual let's-see-what-you-people-have-in-your-closets tour. I still have some bags of composte and my garden hoses on my patio, which can be seen from the street, and he gave me a written notice to clean my act up!
I must have turned 60 shades of red. Not bad in a quilt, but awful if you are a quilter and it's on your face!
WAYWO 09.02.07: Labor Day Edition
Sun Sep 02, 2007 at 03:34:43 PM PDT
Happy Labor Day to all who are able to celebrate the last holiday of summer here in the good old US of A. Too man folks aren't able to celebrate at all. They will be at their minimum wage jobs serving those lucky enough to actually have time to spend with their families and friends. And, a huge thank you to those who serve in the safety forces and medical centers which must be open 24-7 for the benefit of all.
Above all, a deep heartfelt thank you to our men and women in uniform, laboring night and day in the heat and hostility of Iraq and Afghanistan. Sometime over this weekend, lets lift a beer or cup of tea and toast those brave men and women and wish them godspeed in coming home safe and sound.
WAYWO 08.26.07: Sending out a posse
Sun Aug 26, 2007 at 04:56:49 PM PDT
Where or where is our dear emeraldmaiden? Have the goopers kidnapped her? Well, I'll just park this diary here until someone tells me to delete it.
I'm up to my ears in crib quilts. I really, really need to strip, seal and wax my kitchen-dining room-bathroom floor but that's just not getting done, ya know?
WAYWO: 7/29/07 Who gets your money?
Sun Jul 29, 2007 at 03:29:49 PM PDT
(emeraldmaiden is away on a well deserved vacation and will be back next week. In the meantime, she has asked me to sub for her - awfully big shoes to fill, hope I do it justice. Thanks em - have a wonderful time!)
It's almost August and here in NE Ohio the dog days of summer are well underway. These sultry days were originally defined as the time when Sirius, the Dog Star, rises at the same time as the sun. Although first recognized as the period from July 3 to August 11, nowadays most folks consider the month of August to be the dog days. I call it high summer, when all of my heat lovers are in full bloom - coneflower, zinnia, California poppy, sunflowers, and white marigolds. It's a time marked by lethargy, lack of movement, and hot nights with even hotter days.
But, most importantly, it's the time for me to start shopping in earnest for holiday gift supplies!
Liveblog XXIX: Powering up on Levin-Reed
Wed Jul 18, 2007 at 07:04:27 AM PDT
It was one one hell of a night in DC and a hearty bunch of kossacks have been there for every minute of it thanks to liveblogging. On the east coast, the morning rush hour is over on this Wednesday, July 18th and the Senate has been debating the Levin-Reed Amendment to the defense appropriations bill since 3:15 PM yesterday afternoon. Levin-Reed will require redeployment of troops out of Iraq within 120 days of enactment. The GOP doesn't like that idea and so the debate has been joined.
Liveblog XI: Democracy ain't for lightweights anymore
Tue Jul 17, 2007 at 05:56:19 PM PDT
In a move not actually seen by very many Americans, the GOP continues to debate the Levin-Reed Amendment (SA2087) to H.R. 1585 - The Defense Authorization Bill and the Dems are making sure it's a good old barn burner.
Cots have been brought in. Harry Reid vows to go 30 hours for this session. The GOP is calling Mitt for his make-up artist's cell number. Word on the street is that Nancy Pelosi will lead a march of House members from the House to the Senate to support Senate Democrats in what promises to be an all-nighter!
Best of all, our family's newest baby has arrived! Welcome to the world precious Carl James Cunningham, 8 lbs., 19 inches, 5:58 PM EST in Shawnee Mission, KS. We do this for you sweet boy, and for every American child alive, or yet to be born, in order that you may inherit the America we have known, and the Constitution which binds our Union together. BTW, when they ask, you are a Democrat - Aunt Beth says so.
Grab your beverage of choice. The popcorn's popped. The action's getting interesting. You can watch on C-Span2
